THE SCOPE

What once was the home of the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track became the state-of-the-art entertainment facility. This high-profile commercial construction of a 31,606 square foot multi-use facility includes an innovative exterior design, a 37-table live poker room, and ample back-of-house space to support operations. In addition to the new gaming areas, the facility houses a full-service restaurant and bar for patrons and guests. The project covers 9+ acres and is the southeast area of the City of Bonita Springs, visible from every corner of the intersection at Old 41 Road and Bonita Beach Road.

THE CHALLENGE

“Cap-rock”. The entire site was riddled with underground rock which made for difficult excavation.

THE SOLUTION

This challenge would have set any contractor back by eight months but with PBS’ Project Manager David Minton at the helm, he was able to find the resources to deal with the excavation and removal of the rock without incurring extra costs to the budget.
