NAPLES, FLORIDA, NOVEMBER 2, 2023: PBS Contractors and Founder Russell Budd hosted their semiannual award-winning barbecue, known as “Russell’s Barbecue,” on October 27th, benefiting Avow. $38,000 has been raised to financially assist Avow and their mission to create peace of mind by providing compassionate care and support to those who need them.
A different beneficiary is selected each spring and fall – a local organization which we were actively either building a project for or involved with by volunteering and serving that organization.
Avow is a Collier County, Florida-based nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, and grief and loss support services. They serve people of all ages, from infants to the most senior citizens. In 1983, they were established by volunteers and community members as the county’s first nonprofit hospice. Since then, they have grown to become the leading choice of hospice care in Collier County.
“Avow is honored to be selected as the beneficiary of the fall 2023 Russell’s Barbecue event,” says Jaysen F. Roa, President and CEO of Avow. “Companies who have a heart for philanthropy, like PBS Contractors, make it possible for Avow to continue to provide impactful services to our community.”
“We are proud to partner with Avow as the beneficiary for our fall 2023 barbecue in support of their mission,” says Russell Budd, Founder of PBS Contractors and Board member of Avow. “PBS is deeply committed to making a positive impact and Building Better Lives for our community. Our Barbecue is a reminder of the profound importance of giving back.”
Past beneficiaries of Russell’s Barbecue include the Holocaust Museum & Cohen Education Center, Collier County 100 Club, Wounded Warriors of Collier County, Humane Society Naples, David Lawrence Centers, Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs, Collier-Lee Honor Flight, and others.
