Naples, Florida – October 28, 2024: PBS Contractors recently hosted an exclusive, invitation-only Russell’s Barbecue, drawing over 300 guests in support of the local community. Since its inception in 2011, Russell’s Barbecue has not only showcased exceptional culinary expertise but has also evolved into a significant fundraising initiative, benefiting a different local organization each spring and fall.
This year, PBS Contractors proudly partnered with St. Matthew’s House, a vital community organization currently engaged with PBS on some of their building projects. During the event, more than $29,000 was raised to fund the replacement of a 15-passenger van essential for resident transport.
“We are incredibly grateful to PBS Contractors, and everyone involved in Russell’s Barbecue for a wonderful event and their generous support of St. Matthew’s House,” stated Steve Brooder, CEO of St. Matthew’s House. “PBS is a great community partner, and events like this make a tremendous difference in our ability to provide essential services to those in need.”
Russell’s Barbecue has also received accolades from the Collier Building Industry Association, winning the Sand Dollar Award for Best Event. Each year, PBS Founder Russell Budd selects the beneficiary, choosing local organizations they support through construction projects or volunteer services.
To date, Russell’s Barbecue has raised thousands of dollars for various organizations in Collier County, including the David Lawrence Center for Behavioral Health, Humane Society Naples, Collier County 100 Club, Wounded Warriors, The Holocaust Museum & Education Center of Southwest Florida, Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs, Avow, and Champions For Learning, among others.
